I’ve had it with the fucking spam bots. Elon Musk! Please make a Marketplace for X, with verified identities. It blows my mind that Zuckerberg can’t get this under control. Get off the mats and start checking some IDs. Here’s another thought for Facebook as well, why don’t you require people to change their fucking passwords regularly. Poor old folk are losing their accounts at an alarming rate. Also, the idiots that make their password just like the dog in their profile picture. “My day 1 pooch, Remy!” Password is most likely RemyDog2023. Mix that shit up. Stop losing your accounts. Someone in my area lost his account, and a Russian slut bot took over. Deleted all of his pictures, uploaded some slutty photos, and started DM’ing people like they were friends all along.
I miss the days of Craigslist. Especially when I was in college, and I would browse another area. My go to was always westernmass.craigslist.org but man did it feel good typing in providence.craigslist.org, which was also close to worcester.craigslist.org – I could go on and on, and I spent SO many hours looking at vehicles and everything else on Craigslist in college. Ok, so, yeah, I dropped out because I got a job writing code immediately upon moving to Rhode Island, making $35/hr (that was damn good money for an 18 year old from the boonies, who grew up on dial up). Fuck no I wasn’t going to sit through INTRO TO HTML & CSS! I was already a pro, learning HTML when I was 10 years old.
Fast forward, it’s 2023. I can’t sell a fucking $1,000+ laptop on Marketplace for $600! The thing is mint! All I get is spam. I can’t sell anything on there at 50% off. Yes, I know it may not be anything highly desirable, and I’ve had success selling plenty of things on Facebook Marketplace, but the amount of SLAVE SPAM BOTS (who are actually real people by the way) is BEYOND frustrating.
